I purchased a used vehicle on May 10. I was strong armed into purchasing this after market warranty Insurance (Penn Warranty) by the
salesman, for $180.
Within two (2) weeks, I noticed a huge leak from the vehicle, on the driveway. I took it to a local mechanic, he found the intake manifold leaking with no oil leaks. He did not take PennWarranty Insurance.
I took the car to Conrad's. They stated, "we found the lower intake manifold leaking coolant fluid." They did not take PennWarranty either.
I took it back to the car lot, they stated that I should go ahead and drive it anyway. They told me to take it to Tuffy's.
I then took it to Tuffy's, they took the insurance. Tuffy's charged me $79 to check for oil leaks. They did not find one oil leak on the vehicle. They did find the intake manifold leaking coolant fluid. They did file a claim for it to be fixed. They had already had the car there at Tuffy's for almost a week.
PennWarranty did not believe Tuffy's.in turn, PennWarranty sent one of their inspectors to check out the leak. He took pictures, and told Jesse, from Tuffy's, he had found a small bit of oil on top of the manifold. Within a few days, PennWarranty had denied the claim. I filed a rebuttal, and two (2) days ago, I received a letter from PennWarranty, they denied the claim.
I don't understand, how three (4) different shops did not find any oil whatsoever on the manifold intake.
My wife wrote and told PennWarranty, that I was a totally 100% service-connected veteran, who needed the car for transportation to go back and forth to the VA hospital at least twice a week for treatment.
I ended up paying to have it fixed myself.
I thing PennWarrany is one of the biggest con artists and thief in the auto insdustry. I recomend that used car buyers beware!!!
