A rebuttal is welcome, however it is the honest to God truth... And busy isn't an excuse, it's a blessing. I have documentation every step of the way.
After attending a trade show in Fort Myers, Fl, I began looking forward to becoming a dealer of the Kikker 5150 Hardknock bobber chopper. These are very cool little alternatives to a 50cc or 110cc scooter. After receiving a mailer, I started the process and placed my initial order for 4 hardknock bikes on June 3. At the time, I believe, the Kikker website stated 1 to 7 day shipping. This would work out great, as we had a grand opening for our dealership and would have loved to include these awesome little bikes.
And then:
When I called to finalize the order, I was told that they would be shipped in about 3 weeks. This wouldn't work, as our dealership event was June 21st and we needed at least 1 to display. The gentleman who was processing my order said that they'd be able to ship 1 within the week and that should give me plenty of time to build it. Week 1 went by, Week 2 went by, and the week of the event I called 3 times and was told I would get a call back and would be informed of my shipment. I never received this call. It arrived 3 days after our Grand Opening Event.
When it was arrived the frame was packaged so poorly the rear of the frame was bent in at least 3 inches, the engine was scuffed up, the white-wall tires were scuffed up, the upgraded leather seat was scuffed up and (from the shipping company) the bike had been turned upside down and oil had poured out of the engine making a nasty mess. No paperwork was included with the bike, only a Jack-n-the-box hamburger receipt... Not much use for that. These items were not discovered until the package was opened so it was too late to refuse the shipment.
This was bike 1. Please recall earlier that the other 3 were to be shipped within 3 weeks. As I sit here and type, it's July 4,31 days after the order.
Various calls have been made, no answer. Due to the poor customer service I have received I have decided to cancel the other 3 since they've not been received yet. I have called to cancel, left 3 voicemails and sent an email on June 27 requesting cancellation of the other 3, as well as asking Kikker5150 how they prefer me to send this 1 back, or how they would like to handle this. I still have not heard one phone call or a reply back to that email 7 days later.
In my heart of hearts I was really looking forward to building these and being a very active distributor of the Hardknock.in fact, just from unloading the frame and putting it on a creeper to assess the damage, we have already had interest in the one, once it's built.
I have found 1 other distributor that has experienced very similar discrepancies with Kikker5150 and was told that the last order he received will probably be just that... The last order.
I can't imagine being a distributor, let alone a busy distributor of a product where the manufacturer provides such poor service and a lack of communication. I also hold an executive position for a Fortune 100 company which has said to determine, in part, the economic health of this country. I could only imagine if my company operated in this manner.
