The only reason i picked budget in the first place is because i had a pleasant experience with the location in Elmsford, NY. They were top notch, professional, and courteous.
I dont know how to explain this experience in yonkers.
This stuff just doesn't happen in my world.
So, I went to pick up my truck rental, and i was the first person there. I reserved everything online.
I called ahead of time, and was told there were many trucks for me and the woman in charge was running late, and would be there by the time i got in at 8:30.
When i got there, i was told that i am to be put on standby, since i booked on the internet. People started coming in, and paying cash and were getting trucks ahead of me. I spoke up, and she finally said that i'll be next.
Finally, it was my turn in line. I handed over my info (credit card, license), and then she printed out my receipt with extra charges for insurance (which i did not need, since i have my own). I
Questioned the charges, and asked her to remove them since i have insurance. She said no, and that i must pay the charges. I told her i am covered and she disagreed with me and said "you no cover for insurance. Everybody tink dey covad but dey not". I said, i am covered so please remove the charges.
The woman took the contract from me, ripped it into shreads, threw it on the floor, and told me there is NO TRUCK FOR ME, and ran out the door to get trucks for other CASH paying customers.
I asked her for her card when she returned so i could get her name, and she said "I HAVE NO CARD" YOU CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE".
I then called customer service while in the store, and the woman on the other line at customer service was very kind on the phone. She heard the lady at the store screaming in the backround and was astonished. She was fearful for me, and told me to leave the store. She said i wold be called back for a truck rental within 2 hrs. She apologized, and did her job.
However, i was never called back for a truck, and in fact called back 2 hrs later, 3 hrs later, and 7 hrs later and there was still no truck for me.
I hired movers, and had to pay for their time, and did not get to move. Fortunately my move can wait for now. The last phone call i made to customer service, i was told there is nothing they can do for me. No reimbursement, no discount, nothing.
This woman is clearly running an under the table operation at yonkers, and it doesnt seem like the "supervisors" at customer service seem to care at all about this or their unhappy customers. I paid out a lot of money to have movers today, and was screwed because of a disgruntled employee and they have nothing to say about it as a company?
I'm still in shock that i was unable to move today due to this.
