They tried to Repo my Car after it was paid fo

I have been a customer of Ford Credit since 8/26/02 when I purchased a 2000 Jaguar. I put 16k down and receive financing in the amount of $22,534, including finance charge at 13.99%. I have paid my loan faithfully and am down to 2100 which is all interest at this point. My maturity date was August but with the seven deferments they offered over the term of the loan and I accepted, I was misled to believe it would add seven months onto the maturity date making it March. Boy was I wrong! The deferment adds the amount onto to end of the loan, but does not extend the maturity date and is all interest. No one explained this to us.

I was injured on 1/25/08 and had to have a cast and use crutches for four weeks, then my husband was involved in a serious car accident on 1/28/08, totalling his car and spent two weeks in the hospital. I had just made a phone payment to Ford on 1/25/08. Before my next payment due date of 2/26/08, I contacted Ford and informed them that we both had been out of work and the payment may be a week or maybe a month late. We are both substitute teachers on a salary of $68 per day worked with no benefits, so we also were expecting hospital bills. I was told by a rep that it would not be a problem and since I only owed 2100 would I like to have my balance rewritten to lower my monthly payment. Well that sounded like a good idea to me. I was told that as soon as I made my February payment I would be faxed the rewrite documents. My next payment was not made until April 8. I ws contacted by Ford on 04/18/08, stating that my check was rejected because the date was incomplete. I put 04/08 instead of 04/08/08. I told them to send the check back and I would send another. I refused to make an automated payment, which is what they wanted me to do. I was not comfortable making a payment while they had my check. I received the check back on 4/23, I fixed and mailed the same check back 4/24. While they were awaiting the return of the corrected check, a repo order was issued unbeknownst to me. A repo driver came to my house on the evening of 5/10. I refused to surrender the vehicle and told him that I had just made a payment to Ford. Of course he didnt believe me, but since I wasnt giving him my car he told me I should call Ford to get this straight. I never saw any paperwork ordering a repo. I tried to call but they were closed on that evening. Sunday they were closed as well. I called them first thing Monday morning and got a very rude and disturbed person on the phone. I demanded to know what was going on. She was nasty with me and when she yelled at me, I hung up the phone on her. The next day, 5/13 my check was cashed, so I figured I could just continue to make my payments as scheduled. I called back on 5/13 for the rewrite documents to find that a repo order had been issued on 5/12 after I had spoken to the disturbed woman. They issued a repo order and charged off the remaining 2100 of my loan. I never stated that I would not pay it and in fact want to pay it. This was done deliberately and spitefully by that woman I hung up the phone on. Now Ford reps have turned this account over to the Recovery Department which I dont even think is part of Ford Credit because I cant even speak to the regular CSRs anymore. They transfer me to this other number in a whole 'nother state. They refuse to give me a supervisor or manager, they refuse to give me a legal or physical address and no one there has a last name. They have refused me even a payment history on my account.

I have been a customer of Ford Credit for six years and am appalled that they would treat me or anyone in such a manner, but this site has proven to me that they will and they have. After receiving the entire amount of my loan plus over 6k in interest they are still trying to take away my car. The person in the Recovery Department Richard Brammeier is very nasty as well and unprofessional. We have called repeatedly to try and reach an agreement or some alternative payment arrangement, because we do not have 2100 in full at the moment. He has threatened us, called us names, and promised to "put us through hell." He has stated that we better not drive the car or he will steal it off the street. He even threatened to come and take it from our garage. He has told us that if we dont pay in ten days he will send it to the attorneys and add all kinds of fees to the balance. He too, refuses to let us speak to his superior. The car is not repossessed, it is in our garage in need of repair. We want to pay our bill, we do not wish to have the amount charged off. We would just like to have Ford honor the verbal agreement we had to rewrite the contract and continue our payments of $200 until the debt is paid off or at the very least, continue to make our payments of $376.58 as agreed in the original contract until the maturity date of August.

P.S. - They have not given us credit for the last $376 check that was cashed on 5/13, so the balance is actually a little over $1700.
