I visited Value Brakes for their advertised "$98 for all 4 wheel" special.
I arrived at 7:30 and was the first customer. The manager asked me what I wanted, and I said the $98 Special. I also told him that was all I wanted... The rotors resurfaced & the pads. He frowned and went to the next customer.
Well, I waited as he took 4 customers ahead of me & had their cars pulled into the work bays. I waited patiently, until I heard him telling one of the customers, an elderly man, who came in well after me that his car needed almost $900 worth of brake repairs. This was a 1 year old Buick! He then went to another customer whose car was in the service area, with his "official looking" estimate in hand, and told her that her car needed in excess of $600 worth of brake repairs.
I then asked the "manager" when my car would be serviced. He said I have several in front of you. I responded I was the first one to arrive this morning. He ignored me & walked back into the work area. I then told the others in the waiting areas, if they stayed they were in for a real waxing & left.
The bottom line is: I don't believe this operation has EVER performed a $98 special. Stay far away from them!
