Got a letter that looked official. The letterhead said "Ford Notification, Dealer Services." The letter mentioned that my warranty was about to expire and to call to get a quote for a new extended warranty. Like an idiot, I called, fell for the scam, and gave them my credit card number. No sooner did they get my information did they disconnect me. That's when I typed in Kent's name into a Google search and this website came up. I got on the phone immediately and called my credit card company to dispute the charge which already hit and cancel the card. I have to file a dispute when the charge officially comes in on a statement, but that is better than being out the $2500 they would have taken from me. I feel so stupid and I wish I would have looked at this before calling them.
After I got off the phone with my credit card people, I called "Dealer Services" back and told them I wanted to cancel the transaction, which of course they said they couldn't do until tomorrow morning because their customer service department was closed. Yea, right. They said that after my packet arrived, I could ask for a full refund, but I don't see that happening either. Seriously, as soon as they got my credit card info and the charge went through, CLICK, they were done with me. Talk about a dead give-away. If they hadn't done that, my suspicions wouldn't have been raised and they would have had me.
