On July 17 I went to Sons Suzuki Conyers and purchased a used 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara on my own, with no co-signer. They told me my payments would be $367.20 for eight months and after the eight months were up the payments would go up to $604.60.
I told them that $604.60 was way too much and they told me that at the end of the eight months I could come back and trade it in with no problems. I went back in January to try to trade it in before the payments went up. When I went back in they told me that I would need a co-signer.
I told them what the salesmen told me about not having any problems when I came back and they told me that the person who I dealt with no longer worked there and that he took advantage of me. They said that I would be $10,000 upside down if I traded it in because when I bought the car they gave me a 22.25% interest rate.
They made a deal with me where they would sell my Suzuki for the amount that I owed on it and pay it off and I would leave that day in a new truck. After we wrote up and signed the contract for the truck I gave them my keys to the Suzuki and they said that they would write me a check for two months worth of my Suzuki payments because they guaranteed me that they would sell it in less than two months.
They said that the owner would have to sign off on the deal to sell my Suzuki but that he was out of town and when he came back they would send it to me in the mail.
After a month of not getting anything in the mail, I went back up there. When I got there I saw my car sitting in the same place that I had left it. I went inside and talked to the owner and the general manager. They told me that the guy who made the deal said nothing to them about it and that he didn't work there anymore.
They said that the whole month my car was there they were trying to figure out who it belonged to, they said they called the person who owned it before me. So when I asked them what we were going to do, because their employee made a bad deal.
They asked me if I could find someone to take over payments on the Suzuki. I told them no. They said that they weren't going to sell my Suzuki and, basically, that I owned and had to pay for two cars. And that since the salesman did not work there anymore there was no way I could prove what I was saying was true.
I told them that I was going to get a lawyer because I was not going to pay for two car payments. At this time I had not paid anything on the truck. Then they went out of the room and talked.
When they came back they said that since I hadn't paid anything on the truck that they would take it back on one condition. I had to sign a wavier saying that I would not take any legal action towards them on the truck. So after I signed it they could not find my keys to the Suzuki and asked me if I had a spare one. I had to go get the spare one and when I got back they had found my keys. So they took the truck back and now I am paying $600 a month for a used car basic model car with a 22.25% interest rate.
They do the worst business ever over there. I have went to 5 different places trying to file a complaint on them. I have also went to 5 different places trying to trade my car or get in refinaniced in to get lower monthly payments and all of them have told me the same thing.
Someone needs to do something!!!
