Watch out for added costs and read your warranty information just don't buy from them

I went to this dealer in search of a newer used car. I had an '03 and was looking for an '05 or 06. The sales person Todd Griffin, (who failed to give me any cards) began to fast talk to me about a Dodge Neon. I took the car for a drive and told him I felt some bumpiness. I told him it was slight, but I was concerned. He told me it was late on a Friday so I could take the car home and drive it for the weekend. I took the car homel and immediately to a friends house who drove the car and suggested I not buy it unless the rectified the bumping sensation.

I returned the car on Monday and called a friend to pick me up, I intended not to buy the car. Todd told me that the bumpiness was probably just the tires needed balancing. He told me he'd give me a $500.00 check and fill the car with gas. I told him I would buy it only if the service department fixed the tires.

I proceeded to the finance department where after going over the price I found aproximately 4,000.00 in over - charges. There was a 3,000.00 finance charge that I had removed because I knew about the second owner transfer of transaxel warranty, (it pays to read every letter in the books that come with your car, even if it is used especially if you are the second owner. I had read a carfax report so I knew I was the second owner. Anyway I finanlly signed the last line and the car was brought around from the service department.

The very first thing I noticed was that the car was 3/4 full. This may seem like a small thing, but it showed me that I was dealing with a liar as a salesman. The very next thing I noticed when I drove off the lot was that the bumping feeling was still there. When I got home I was sick to my stomach; I had just made a 16,000.00 purchase and it already needed work. I thought to myself "thank God for warranty". I did not return the car immediately for service, but in 2 weeks I went back to the service department and was told I was too late and needed to make an appointment.

I made an appointment and had to break it, then I made another and something else came up. I decided I'd just take it in for service when I needed my oil change and let them correct the problem at that time. 33 days later when I went in to have the car serviced the first thing I was told was that my tires were not covered. This raised a red flag. My oil was changed at the price of 30.00 and I was told that I had 2 bent wheels and they would order them and put them on for $600.00. I was aghast and went to talk with the Todd who stated he didn't know what I was talking about and the car had been checked out before I purchased it and it was a certified vehicle so there was nothing wrong with it. The person who drove the car was with me and stated she knew something was wrong with the tires before I purchased the car. I was told to speak with the manager of service who stated that I probably did the damage. When I asked him how I did it, he stated I probably ran over something.

I then spoke with the sales manager who stated that they carried a 30 day 3000 mile warranty on anything and everything. When I told him I was never told this or I would have made every effort to keep the appointment he said well it is an implied warranty. What does that mean. The bottom line is I was duped, and you will be too if you buy a car from Hansen Chrysler.
