The WORST experience I've ever had buying a ca

I wanted to buy a new car in June 06. After working with one salesman for two weekends, I initially decided on the Yaris sedan. I called him to let him know I would be in that weekend to pick, price and sign for my vehicle. But when I got there he was no where to be found. Nobody knew where he had gone. The floor manager called my salesperson, who then said over the phone to me, "I didn't know you were coming, I'm on vacation for the next two months."

They apologized and gave me to another guy, (who must've been new) and thought he could sweet talk me into a higher priced vehicle. Once that didn't work, (and he actually listened to me) he wrote down what I wanted in a vehicle. They didn't have any fully loaded at the time, so he assured me he would ask inventory to find the vehicle and have it transferred here. All I'd have to do was give them a deposit (which would be counted as part of the down payment).

One whole month rolls by and this new salesperson calls me and says he has a few options for me to look at, that I need to come into the dealership. When I get there he says they don't have any vehicles fully loaded, and yet again offers to "make me a deal" on a Camry or Corolla. I told him "NO" and go straight over to the window I dropped my deposit off at and asked for it back. They refused and said, "There's nothing we can do, it has to be authorized by the GM." and gave me his office number to call.

I called and left three messages, all stating that I do not want another salesperson, I want my money, I'm going to another dealership. He doesn't call me back, instead calls the inventory supervisor to find me on the floor and help me. She does, and I we find the perfect Yaris in Jacksonville, and that weekend I return to price and sign.

I sit down to sign off on the price for the car and I notice it's priced at $18,800. When the inventory supervisor and I had it transfered the MSRP on it was $16,600. I asked him why all of a sudden the MSRP is $2,200 more. He huffed and puffed away and came back with another paper saying $16,600.

I then went into the financing office to put the rest of my money down and work out the payments, when the salesman stormed back in and pointed to a piece of paper. "See, " he snapped, "I only made $187 on this car, you got a good deal. You happy?" I looked at him and smiled.

He could have gotten that $187 in a two weeks, instead of two months. All he had to do was what I asked, which was find the car I wanted. I'm still annoyed that the GM didn't call me back personally, but I'm happy I got what I wanted. Every time I go in for a service and see that salesperson he gives me a dirty look.

Don't let the salespeople here push you around!
