KC Budget Lot - Neil's Auto Finance
Screwed twice in under a year by 2 seperate companies & Kansas City

Here's the story of how I got 2 repossessions in under a year:

First off out of sheer desperation to get a car because I had to get back and forth to work at a new job that I just got, I and the wife traveled to Neil's Auto Finance, where we were promptly sold a 1998 Dodge Intrepid ES.

Four months in and 2 months after the "60 day warranty" runs out, the car starts running hot. Long story short I found out they put block sealant in the engine to make it last as long as it did, and I ended up spending over $1000 in parts trying to keep it from overheating before taking it in to a Dodge dealership who explained what happened to the car and told me it would cost more than the car is worth to replace the engine.

So without spending another dime the car went back to Neil's, and that's repossession #1. (People told about Neil's and I didn't listen out of desperation, so I chalk this one up to me!)

Tax season comes and I still need another car and I just moved to Independence so I get my return and purchase a 2002 Chevy Impala from KC Budget Lot, LLC.

Now 2 things happened here with these guys, 1 no warranty, 2 They repossess quickly if your insurance lapses.

That's right they repossess if your insurance lapses.

Here's the scoop:

From day 2 of having had the vehicle I had to do work on it.

I took it to a local Firestone and had them do a inspection on the car from top to bottom. The results were that the front left ball joint needed to be replaced as it had FAILED and the front right outer tie rod needed to be replaced as it also FAILED. Had I driven the car for 48 more hours with these 2 problems I could have had a serious accident.

Not to mention the back rotors on both sides and brakes started grinding after day 3, they all needed to be replaced.

There is no way this car should have passed inspection, but according to the lot and the inspection papers I received at purchase it passed with flying colors.

The cost of these unexpected repairs totaled just under $1000, which suffice to say made me late on my insurance as well as a few other bills.

After a week of being canceled from my insurance, I wake up one morning to find my car is not in my driveway.

I waited for the lot to open and promptly called them and discover that they had taken the car back and wanted me to have insurance and pay a $300 repossession fee to get my car back.

So I called a ride and went to the lot and showed the owner the estimate for the repairs and the receipts and I explained to the owner that:

1.) with all the work I had to do to the car from the 2nd day of me having it and still making my payments on time to them

And

2.) no one from the lot had spoken to me about repossessing the car and I had no money to purchase insurance that day and needed the car for 1 more week until I got paid so I could get insurance and make their payment.

The owner stated I had 15 minutes to get insurance or the car would be repossessed.

When I told him i couldn't get insurance he promptly demanded the keys to the car and the title and said the car was being repossessed for failure to maintain insurance, and that they are cleaning it out and would bring my stuff outside.

I couldn't believe it here I am almost in the same predicament as before except this time I was not behind on payments to the lot and I had the car for less tha n a month and a half.

That's repossession #2 in less than a year but this time I wanna fight it.

I will be contacting a lawyer regarding this situation as I was willing to overlook the flaws with the car at first but now after I've repaired them and then got treated the way I did at a minimum I want the repossession lifted because the lot got the car back in way better condition than I received it in and all they are going to do is resell it probably for the same amount they sold it to me for.

And if I can't have at least my deposit back all I want is the repossession taken off my credit.

So if you are a attorney and think I have a chance contact me through my email in my profile.
