Back in 2001 my husband and I bought a car which Triad financed. Everything was fine for a while but then I had to take some leave off of work for maturnaty leave and since I hadn't been there a full year, then I wasn't getting paid alot of money. My husband then had to have surgery for Kidney stones and of course we got behind on all of our payments. We called Triad and we practically begged them to come get the car because we were just sinking financially. They told us that they wanted to work out a payment arrangement and of course we still couldn't.
Three months went by and they finally came to get the car (in the middle of the night like a bunch of thieves). This was a big relief to us. We had put 3500 dollars down on the car and then whatever we paid them while we had it. The initial balance was only 18,000 dollars. They sent us a letter telling us we owed them almost 9 thousand more after they auctioned it. This has all been so long ago that I don't even remember the exact amounts.
Now here is is April and I have been getting notices and phone calls threatening to sue me for the 9 thousand dollar balance. About 3 monthes ago, I got a phone call from a law firm so we called Triad to ask them what was going on. They told us that they had sold our account and had nothing to do with it. These people are calling me at work now. The lawyer said that he was a representitive from Triad. If they Sold our account, then how is this guy thier rep?
