Complaint / Review
Crescent Bank And Trust
Finance Company, Ca

I purchased a 2004 Ford Expedition and the financing company that chose to pursue me was non other than Crescent Bank and Trust. If I would have known that they were going to treat me the way that they have and are than I would have taken a different route. The dealership that I purchased the vehicle from insured me that I would receive a monthly payment book the following month so that I could make my first payment.

After a month and a half went by I started to get worried. I called the number that I had for Crescent Bank and that ended up being the wrong number (strike 1). Finally, when I did get in contact with them they told me that they would note the computer that I hadn't received the payment book with the address and that I should receive it in the mail within 7-10 business days.

When I made my first payment which was the end of October (purchased car Aug. 18) I received a threatning phone call a few days later stating that I was in default of my contract I spoke with a lady by the name of Rose. At that time I explained to her what was going on and immediatly she told me that I was a liar and I needed to send a payment for September asap. (I did)

In the month of December my account was given to another rep who called to inform me that she was the new case holder and I needed to remit 2 months payments or give up the unit (car). I explained to her that I was a payment behind because of the delayed payment book which they later explained the reason (Hurricane Katrina delayed their mail service). So in the month of January I sent two payments off so that their would not be any problems. Each month my payment is due on the 18 and I send it off no later than the week before just so they receive it on time.

During the new year I found out that I was pregnant and right off the bat I was having complications but I maintained my car payments along with my other household bills.in the month of June I had to go into the hospital for monitoring in July I was admitted into the hospital on permenant bed rest until the baby was born, I had my husband contact all of the collectors especially Crescent Bank to let them know what was going and that payment will be made within a two week period. (I was 30 days late). I had the baby mid July but because I was having so many complications the baby had to stay in the hospital for a few extra days, the day before the baby came home Crescent Bank had a tow company come and reposses our car. At this time we had just sent off a month and half payment. This was not suitable because they told my husband he didn't send it via Quick Collect or do a check by phone.

We immediately went to the bank to take out the money to get the car back which ending up being double the cost because the tow company had to verify payment with them before releasing the car and Beverly who at that time was the case holder took her time to contact them with the verification.

The story isn't over yet at this time I asked for a payoff amount on the vehicle and they told me 14,000.00 which is not true being that we purchased the car for only 17 and we had already been paying on th e car for almost a year and half. It seems to me that I started my contract over without me signing a new one which I would not have done anyway. Please help!!!
