Just the facts - You be the judge - I had a high-end warranty with AUL. A year later my transmission went out. AUL refused to overhaul the original transmission.instead they supplied a replacement. Over the next 18 months the transmission had to be replcaed two more times, once by AUL and once by me. Turned out the problem was AUL supplied a transmission for a different year car. I found this out by taking it to the dealer to find out why every two days or two weeks for 18 month I had major problems. The dealer said that the model of transmission AUL installed should never have been put in my car, and had caused systemic additional damage to my car now too. When the dealer spoke with AUL and told AUL they needed to fix this problem AUL caused, AUL said they had spent too much money already and refused... And refused to talk to me... And refused to answer my calls... And refuseed to respond to my e-mails and letters. Finally I had no choice but to reach in my pocket for my credit card and replace the transmission, and all the systemic damge repairs too.
I successully sued AUL but did it in small claims becasue I could not afford the cost of an attorney for a civil suit. I was out $12,500.00 in directly realted costs [not to mention the HELL I went through], but could only sue in small claims for $5,000.00. AUL did appear in court. The judge awared me a judgement of $5,000.00 plus court costs.
THIS WAS A LONG DRAWN OUT HELLISH EXPERIENCE and I'm out many thousands of dollars, beyond my judgement, and the amount of gray hair I have gained and has fallen out as a result of this experience is crazy making. I don't use the kind of language I would like to use, but you can imagine.
