Carmax sold me a defective car with a roof that leaks really bad when raining and during car washes. I had purchased additional guarantee from Carmax, and so they agreed to fix the car based on our guarantee agreement.
Carmax did try to fix this problem a few times for about 1 year, but they could never fix properly and the problem continued, in the end they refused to fix the car and told me that I would be responsible for the repair. I asked them to please find another car like it and replace it, or give me an option to buy another car from them and just let stop making payments on the current loan, but they did not want to look at any other option, but leave me with a car in which my family and I get completely wet when it rains.
So, I told them that if they did not fix the car, which by now already was rusted and had mold inside due to all the water leaking through the whole roof, I would not pick the car up from the their dealer in which is it was being repaired.in addition, I would not make payments until the car was fixed.
As a results, Carmax decided to ruin my good credit, instead of working with me to find an option that would be good for both myself and the company. I cannot understand how a company that sells me a defective vehicle would not be willing to give options to work things out. I paid a total of over $16,000.00 for having a car that I only drove for only about 1 year and a half, and that was on and off, as the car was in the repair shop for more than a month at time multiple times.
In summary, It's very unjust and sad when a person like myself (in addition to my family) get their credit ruined by a big company who does not care about their customers and families. Carmax took over $16,000.00 from me just for having me drive a defective car for a year and a half, then sold the car again to someone else, but that was not enough, now they want me to pay another/more than $10,000.00 which according to them I owe from the loan. It is this type of situation that really make me think that there is no justice for the little guy like me. All I wanted was to work with Carmax so I did not have to drive a car in which my family and myself got really wet every time it rained.
I wish that Carmax would not only think about making money, and instead put themselves in my shoes. I don't think anyone at Carmax would like to buy a car for their family which takes water through the roof and it's full of rust and mold inside as a result. I spent many hours/days talking to Carmax employees at the Pompano Beach Store and their credit department to try to work things out but nobody at Carmax wanted to work with me.
I should mention that during one of these repairs, Carmax took the wheels of the car and when they put them back they forgot to tighten the lug nuts, it could only be by miracle that I'/m writing about this today, as I picked-up the car from the dealer that day and started driving to Orlando with my whole family in the car, when I got on the freeway we started to hear a really loud noise coming from the wheels so I pulled-off the freeway, just to find out that one of my wheels was about to come off the car (not good when going 70 miles per hour), just being attached to it by only 2 lug nuts about to come off. This is a perfect example of how understanding I had been with Carmax, as I did not complaint about the incident and continued to be willing to work with them to have the car fixed. But Carmax did not want to work with me, again Carmax was only thinking about money and not the customer.
All I have done is to take a stand for is just and right, and Carmax should know that nothing they can do to ruin my credit and life will keep me from being a good person and doing what is right.
