I bought a car from Palmer Dodge in mid April. After not receiving the paperwork to get my registeration completed with the DMV we had to get another drive out tag good for another 30 days from the dealership. They had no problems giving this to us and the reasoning soon became clear. We were told that they were still waiting on the Alabama DMV to release the title for the car. Wait?! Alabama? We asked ourselves. Why is the title still in Alabama. Well, come to find out they illegally sold us a car in which they did not even have a clear title on. Actually, they STILL do not have the title and it has been almost 90 days... 88 to be exact. Now, we have our insuance company calling us demanding the registeration paperwork for the car before they cancel our insurance... And yes, we would not be able to drive the car once that happens. We have been to the dealership and spoken to several people but to no avail. The general manager's response to selling the car in the first place without a clear title was "that's something you'll just have to talk to your lawyer about... Isn't it?". Buyers beware because your title is the key selling point when you go to resale it. What if it was previously reposessed or something even worse. Your resale will go DOWN big time and you wouldn't have had a clue. This dealership has been dishonest, disloyal and even after knowing their wrongdoing does not care to keep good customers coming back but are just concerned about keeping the dollar in their pocket. They don't care and don't want to help and are just hoping we go away... And that's not going to happen.
