I have had my car financed with Chryslar for three years.in December at Christmas they sent me a letter saying I could skip a payment and only pay the finance charge, which was $13.00. Which I did.in January I got a letter stating I had not made my payment. I called, and emailed stating what I had done with the skip payment, I had the cancelled check. They told me that was not right I didn't make my payment, and they needed it pronto. I paid them for the month of January, but still not Dec.
Early Febuary, my car was repossed because of the non payment of December. I told the repo guy they never even sent me a reposession notice, he told me they didn't have to. I called Chryslar none to happy to express to them there shady policy on skipped payments. Its a rip off. A way for them to make money!
Needless to say to get my car back I had to pay off my loan. (Which was to be paid in full in April, three payments left and they took my car!)
I had to pay for storage of my car, (at the repo place) and had to buy back what was already mine in my car ex. Cds, hair clips etc. Also I had to wait to payoff my car until Chryslar sent me a letter stating my car had been repossed, (Duh I think I noticed that) shouldn't they have done that before, then Chrsylar had to send the repo people a letter telling them I had paid for the car and they could release it. This took almost a week.
What a scam. So consumers beware of the skip a payment notice especially from Chryslar. Luckily I had the money to get my car and it is now free and clear, just like I am from Chryslar.
