I am a cancer patient recovering from a bone marrow transplant and i was ripped off by jay pane the owner of combustion dynamics. Everything he said he was going to do was an out right lie. Mr payne took my 86 jeep to his shop in cottonwood arizona to overhaul the engine. Hesaid i would have it back in 3 months and that was sept. After 10 months of waiting i told mr payne i would be out in 2 weeks to tow my jeep home done or not. Mr payne was paid 6000.00 up front to do the work. I have contaced my payne on several ocassions and he has not returned my calls.
I have had the jeep looked at by two indepent repair shops who both said the same thing and now it is at a third shop. Beteto towing of anaheim california who is correctly overhauling the engine. Vince peteto confirmed to me what the other shops has said that this was the cheapest over haul that could have been done if it was even done at all. The crank was tunred, 030 undersize the no 6 piston was pumping oil the camshaft was a stock cam not a comp cam the guides in the cylinder head were passing oil the lifers and pushrods were the wrong ones for this engine all of mt old belts hoses and plug wires cap and roror had been reused.
Basically this was a text book mechanic ripoff and the guy should be ashamed. The over haul kit that was used was the lowest grade that there was. I have repeatdly asked for an invoice fron jay payne and have never gotton one. Stay away from this crook what ever you do.
