William Payne contacted me after he was given my name as someone looking for hot tub repairs. Mr. Payne charged me $74.50 to troubleshoot the problem and drain the spa on 8/15. Mr Payne gave me an estimast of $439.44 including labor and said it would be another $50.00 to replace the floor. I chose to have the floor replaced. On 10/13 Mr Payne figured out he could not fix the spa as originally indicated and needed a whole new pack. He revised his estimate to $676.07 and requested $450.00 down which I paid on that day. From this date until 12/28 Mr Payne scheduled appointments to come and canceled so many times I lost track. He eventually felt it necessary to provide me with a Dr.'s note the last time as I am sure he was embarrassed by that point. Finally he showed to finish the work on 12/27 and again tried to tell me more was wrong and change the price. Being fed up by now I told him to finish the work and I would get someone else to fix the other thing. We had many heated words and eventually agreed he would return the next day and finish and get paid in full. He returned the next day, removed his stuff and gave me a partial refund of $314.80. I agree to pay the $50 for the floor. I do not agree to pay for his time when he took 4 months and inconvenienced me numberous times. He still owes me $159.70. This doesn't even take into account that he broke the door to the underneath of the spa and left it unrepaired. I have contracted someone else to do the work and I have never seen such unprofessional behavior in all of my life.
