I bought a car from Drive time four years ago, All was well with it ecept the fact that I paid way too much for the car. One day a nice saleswoman convinced us to trade in our old van for a new one. So we did. It seemed like a perfect trade, a nice new version of a van, we seemed so happy. Until the van broke down, $40.00 diagnostic fee to fix what seemed to be a transmission cylonoid. No problem in and out of the shop in three days. Then one week later engine light again. Another $40.00 diagnostic fee for yet another transmission cylanoid. Three more days in the shop. Then within 6 days ding engine light again. We have only had the car three months and it has been in the shop every month!!! This time one week in the shop, no clue what is wrong, the mechanic is completely dismayed and we are asked after 1 week and a half to take it to another shop. So yeah pretty much three weeks no car.
We had to rent a car for a week total $165.00 plus the $56. Oo gas to return the car. We needed to purchase four bus passes @ $160.00 a piece for our disabled kids to get to and from kids with no car... That is a total of $520.00. Oh did I mention I have congestive heart failure and needed to take a cab now 3 times from Walnut CA to Loma Linda to go to the cardiologist. There and back $73.65 x 3= 220.95. We can not of course afford another rent a car. Drive time only reimburses $25.00 per day, we need to rent a van for my wheelchair and my daughter's wheelchair she has cerebal palsy. So with a family discount we ended up paying only $30.00 a day, but we have to wait 4-6 weeks to get that back. Well we called the dealer and asked to get a defermanent, where they tack the payment on the end, since we haven't had a car in three weeks and put all of our money to rent a car, cabs, busses, and bus passes. They said they would run it by corparte.
Well five days later and three messages left no call back. I am a stay at home mom, NO ONE called. Tonight corporate calls to see why the payment is late. We tell them why and we are awaiting to hear from a Ramone for a defferment. Corpartae was upset and callled the montcliar office where the patched me to the BIGGEST asshole ever. Named James Martinez. He begins to say the car will be re-poed and we are late, that they have called and left a message on the 9th? Not here. That they need payment and blah, blah, I tell him I put all my money to other transpotation while the car is in the shop which is under warranty, he says that is not his problem, he can't help me without actual recipts from fixing the car? The car is under waranty they are fixing it??? Then I tell him It is not my fault the car hasn't worked from the day I bought it, he laughs like some jerk and said hey you bought a "used" car, I did not buy a used car "AS IS" I am not stupid, it was suppose to have all the check and balances checked before selling it. This guy did not CARE. He was a major asshole, he said it was not his problem or fault that the car didn't work? What the hell, he just admitted he sells lemons and the cars don't have to work. That is illegal. I told him what about the lemon law. He said the lemon don't apply to used cars??? What the h*l. I am calling a attorney tomorrow. He has a big fulling coming. I think this dealership has enough problems, yet even more hiring some jerk who has no clue how to deal with coustmers. He makes it all the worse.
So if you are young and looking to buy a car DO NOT GO TO DRIVE TIME For any corparate people whom may read this James Martinez in the Montclair store should be FIRED. He does not deal with people well. He belittles, demines, and laughs at people. He said he can be a smart ass all he wants, what kind of person is that to represent a company.
