We had Brownies replace a transmission for our 1989 Lincoln Mark VII, after several times of having to take the car back for dissatisifcation, which turned out to be clutch pads put in incorrectly and therefore welded together, improper timing set for shifting and various other reasons.
We were refused contact with the owner of Brownies. Today, approx. One year later, we received a call about the problems we are now facing with the transmission which are: clutch pads welded together again, because they were put in wrong and were not the proper thickness, bolts were not torqued and they were stripped, the valve body was "junk", and they apparently damaged the exhaust system when putting the transmission back in.
So, in addition to the 1500.00 I have already paid to have the transmission fixed by Brownies top mechanic, I am now paying 1100.00 to fix the errors of that top mechanic. Now I am out money, and again down one car which causes problems for a two car family.
