Authorized repairs to a transmission/clutch in a shop 5 hours from my residence. Clutch went out on a trip on I75 and had to be towed to the nearest shop. Upon retreiving the vehicle, my local/regular mechanic found - the clutch plate/fly wheel warped due to improper allignment, the transmission & transfer case fluids were the wrong weight for the vehicle, the drain plug was in only finger tight, and there was a pile of metal fragments clinging to the plug magnet indicating a faulty transmission. The odometer cable was fitted with the wrong drive gear - registering incorrect speed and milage. The clutch line contained air due to improper bleeding, and all three rubber boots, the shifter boot, sub boot, and the clutch lever boots were all improperly installed, subjecting the internal gears/parts to road dirt, water etc.
