Service center wrongly diagnosed problem with my vehicle, claiming that the part that broke was not under warranty. They also did not properly perform $487 tune up.
The service center told us our clutch lining wore out and caused the clutch to "burn out". The clutch lining is ONE thing not covered under our extended warranty thus all the subsequent damage was supposedly also not covered. They were also paid to perform a 35,000 mile tune up, costing $487.09, which included checking the brakes and rotating the tires.
When we questioned the diagnosis, the service manager said we were "insulting his intelligence." While towing away our vehicle, the service manager was extremely rude and unprofessional by using foul language and urging us to get into a physical altercation.
We brought our vehicle to TEAM Hyundai in Pasadena, they found that the clutch lining did NOT cause the damage, in fact, it was fine. It was the PRESSURE BEARING that broke and caused all subsequent damage. They found that everything that was damaged was covered under warranty!
They also discovered that two of our wheel studs were broken which, as TEAM Hyundai said, rendered our car "UNSAFE TO DRIVE." They also found that our front brakes were extremely wore down. They said that,
whether or not LA city Hyundai had broken our wheel studs they should have TOLD us that they were broken because they could be liable if the wheel had fallen off while we were driving. They also failed to tell us our brakes were worn down.
In conclusion, LA city hyundai tried to scam us into paying for a repair that WAS covered under warranty and failed to tell us that our car was unsafe to drive after we paid them to check for exactly that.
