Farmers insurance-sacramento-total loss claims staff 100% mistreated/abused & royally ripped off to disabled single mom with no transportation or money to fight back!

I was in a car accident where they claimed "totalled" my car, even though the damage was not that severe. They then offered me a ridiculously low payoff settlement and told me if I wanted any better I needed to get 3 quotes from 3 dealerships (in writing) giving their opinion of the true Total Market Value (TMV) of my car. This was difficult with no transportation, single Mom in process of divorce and custody fight.

My daughter is 5 years old and needed to be in school every day so I had to surrender her to her Father (horrible for my case) so she could be taken to school. After going all over town (and out of town!) in a rented car that I couldn't afford, a dealer informed me that NO dealer would consider doing this for me because this would make the dealership liable.

When I contacted Janis Monteton's assistant, Jason Tillery, he unknowingly admitted that he knew that NO dealership would EVER give me a written estimate for my insurance company (he didn't know that Janis advised me to do this). 3 WEEKS later (still no car) Janis tells me to find 3 cars like mine (96 Ford Taurus Wagon - Immaculate condition, fully loaded) and provide concrete proof of these ads.

I sent her proof of 6 along with about 10 or 12 more Tauruses in sourrounding years for additional credibility. Without telling me she then goes on vacation and her assistant emails me saying he found the info I provided to be of "No Importance!" I had to wait till she returned 1 week LATER!

She then said she only rec'd ONE quote. LIE!!! And therefore did this task for me (whereby she used more ridiculous, clunker-lemon Tauruses for sale.

Then averaged those amount to give me a quote about 500 over original. As desperage as I was I still told her this was not adequate (or appropriate for that matter) and re-faxed my info. Again no return response (now it's been about 2 1/2 months!) so my out of state MOm called her and did her best to tell her my situation and how many important Doctors appointment I had been missing as well as not being able to see much of my daughter at all!

I suffer from severe depression to start with and the absence of my daughter while going through a divorce from hell was more than i could take... But i knew how important it was to not "crack-up" and somehow managed to stay afloat!

Finally we contacted Janis' boss Art % and he was just as nasty and mean as the rest of the group! I have never once had to complain about anything like this or any person in a professional position and I knew that I was ROYALLY being taken advantage of to the point of them actually treating me in a harrassing manner (ie, sending me out on a wild goose chase when they knew I would not be able to get what they asked).

Finally I HAD to just accept the unfair settlement for my own sanity's sake. When I told them I accepted they told me I could come pick up the check the very next day, but because I had no transportation, I had to ask that they mail it.

That was 4 days ago. I called today to confirm they sent it and they told me no, they send a bunch of paperwork for me to fill out and sign and well as documentation they needed from me before they would even write up the check. Of course none of this had ever even been mentioned before i made this call today.

So now I'm looking at another couple of weeks to receive a lousy $4900 for an $8,000 (mid-range calculated TMV from Edwards.com) car. This entire nightmare has resulted in sooooo many serious life problems for me that will never be able to be made up. But hey... Farmers could give a...

Someone told me they were trying to get rid of all they California business due to a major loss on the home owners side of their business. Something to do with many toxic "Mold" cases that has seriously effected their profit.

I don't know anything else about that, all I know is that they see me, a naive, disabled single Mom going through a divorce and not used to handling matter like this. So they had no problem just jerking me around, ripping me off and making my life a living hell. No sweat off their brow huh?

If for no other reason, writing this has felt very "healthy" for me so for whoever is reading... Thanks.
