I came to "usacomplaints.com" by accident, but liked what i saw.
And then scrolled down to see if my credit card company was there, but that's whole other rip-off all together.
I scrolled further down and saw TRIAD!
I've been having problems with them since 2003!
I lost my job, due to downsizing, and asked if I could defer my payments for a month or two, in which by then I would surely have a job. These bastards told me that they'd only let me get my payments deferred if I was working.
NOW WHY WOULD I NEED TO DEFER MY PAYMENTS IF I WAS WORKING? HELLO!
So I go and get a job with a temp agency, because TRIAD said they would verify with my employer.
So after all everything, they give my the deferment for 2 months, and a month or so later they sent a recovery guy to my house to pick up the vehicle.
Luckily i was at work! This was in the summer of 2003.
Since they gave me a deferment back in 2003 and re-written my contract, these friggin' leaches are charging me "who knows how much?" each day that goes by, when for some reason or other my payment is late. The daily fee is very high, so high that it's practically added the total of another monthly payment on top of my ballance. Then they call me harassing at work AND at home telling me that I am 2 car payments behing, when in fact it's only 1. And unfortunately I can't catch up now that they've gotten the "late fee" snowball rolling.
Then they tell me that if I wire them said amount, that I'll qualify for them to defer my payments for a couple of months. So I do this and when I call them back to get my payments deferred they say they're going to mail me something and they don't.
Another thing I have made a request in writing to TRIAD for is a new copy of my contract, and a long updated statement of my payments so far and my balance. And they have NEVER sent it to me. They say they sent it and they didn't. For some reason, they don't want to send me a copy of my contract or my statement. All they send me is the short statement that says how much my payment is, my total late fees, and when it's due.
Then in the past they've done this thing to me where I send them a money order payment with enough time to allow for mail delays, and I know they get the payment on time. Then they call me saying they have not received it, demanding that I better wire them the payment if I don't want to have late fees added. So I go and wire the payment, call them back to verify that they got it. Later I call the money order company to see if the money order was cashed and it was, so they get 2 payment, and I still end up with late fees.
3 weeks ago they called me 36 times between 8: am and 9: pm. I kept the count on my cell phone.
In the past they've also called me at work harassing me into sending the payment, and so I make arrangements to pay them 3-4 days later.
And they keep calling me to harass to me the next day, and the next day, and the next!
They are F%@king VICIOUS!
The TRIAD collector are cold blooded heartless parasites, they don't care about nothing but their collection goals and bonuses. That is what makes them say pretty much anything to get you to send them money that is not really going to get you any close to getting current.
I am sick and tired of them.
I am supposed to be done with my payments this year, and when I asked them for my remaining balance a month ago, it looks like I am nowhere near paying off my car. I bought it in March for $19,000. My payments are $450.00/mo.
By my estimates I have paid somewhere between $25,000-$27,000.
So why is my balance $9,800?
Somebody please HELP!

What I know about Triad: I was sending my payment to some state in the eastern U.S. The first year. Then I was mailing my payments to an address in Huntington Beach, CA.
And lately I've been wiring or mailing the payments to a Texas address.
I tried to do some research to find out who is in charge (CEO, whatever). It turns out that Triad Financial is owned by FORD MOTOR COMPANY (hmmm. Why would Ford finance my Honda?).
