My husband bought a brand new 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport. He has changed his oil regulary and has had a few problems. He got into his truck and it started knocking and then he lost all oil pressure. He had the truck towed into the Terre Haute Dodge Dealership and they looked it over and said that because he was not up to date on his oil change, 6000 miles had past since his last oil change, the warranty was no good.
This truck only has 28,000 miles on it and in the owners manuel it states that if the miles are highway miles then 7500 miles could be inbetween oil changes. His mileage is from highway miles and we have proof of that but the warranty states 3000 miles between oil changes.
This is rediculous that the owners manuel and the warranty do not state the same, which in turn hurts the buyer of the vehicle. I believe Dodge & Chrysler are big rip offs when it comes to these warranties, we even bought the extended warranty for an additional 1500 dollars.
Chrysler & Dodge are all rip offs and don't believe the warranties. I will never buy another product from them as long as I live.
