Rip off from sales to repair the business that doesn't give a dam

I was coerced in to prematurely signing a contract for a 1996 Ford Contour in February with the verbal continigency that the downpayment would be made as soon as my federal tax return was received. Hoffman Toyota of Avon put through the loan as though the contract had been completed.

I finally took posession of the vehicle in May with the written agreement that Hoffman Toyota of Avon would make the first two payments because of their mistake in processing the loan prematurely. It took over a month and several phone calls to the dealership before they finally made these payments ($30 in late fees later).

The vehicle was returned to the shop due to brake issues. It was confirmed by a service rep. (Chip) that the brakes needed work. Three days prior to the appointment to fix the brakes, the car developed an antifreeze leak and had to be towed to Hoffman Toyota of Avon.

The car was in their posession for a week to replace a hose and the brakes were not touched.

Within two weeks of the antifreeze leak, the car leaked all of it transmission fluid. The car was brought to them for repair of the transmission and the brakes.

Two weeks later the transmission was replaced with a factory remanufactured transmission and returned to me. That night I noticed that everytime I turned the steering wheel in either direction it sounded like the wheels or something worse was going to fall off.

The next day when I drove the car to the airport to pick up my daughter it started hunching really bad and by the time we got home the transmission was slipping again.

The car is not back in the posession of Hoffman Toyota of Avon for yet another undetermined amount of time.

I am paying $200 a month for a car I have literally only driven for a few weeks total. I feel like they saw two women coming (my 21 yr old daughter and myself) and figured they could unload this vehicle from hell. I am paying way to much for a car that is broken down more then it runs.

What can I legally do about this issue. I would like to get out of this deal but I can't find any used car lemon laws for the state of Connecticut.
