I bought an engine from D & J used part suppliers. Dave told me that it was a 40,000 mile engine and I would be getting this information along with the engine and if there was a problem I would have no problem getting my money back. I told Dave that the Engine needed to be delivered on a smaller truck and that in fact a Tractor Trailer could not get into Dell Overmans Driveway.
The Engine was delivered on a Tractor Trailer and had to be dropped off at Stricklin Auto & Truck Parts. I was told that the engine was on its side when the door was lifted up on the carrier truck R & L. After Dell got it to his shop and removed what was left of the broken crate he found the engine was damaged. I then went to Dell's shop took pictures and emailed them to Dave that day it was a 3 day event. I was in touch with him and I had to call him everyday. He told me he was going to call me back and never did so I made the calls to him. At the end of it all I was told that R & L was going to reimburse them and I would be reimbursed for the full amount. I was told that R & L was going to pick the Engine up the following Monday. I called that Monday when it was not picked up and Dave told me it would be in the next few days. This went on for 3 weeks. R & L is in the area every day sometimes two times in one day and it could have been picked up. If I would have ever been told I needed to contact R & L I would have done that. We are talking about $800. I don't have that kind of money to play with and I would not have ignored a request to call the Freight Company. I know that the company I bought the Engine from was not where the Engine came from so Dave never seen the engine and there was most likely never any proof that the engine was a 40,000 mile engine. For all I know they could have got the reimbursement from the freight Company. Dell told me he had the Scrap metal truck haul that engine off a few months later since no one came to clam it and it was not useable. The engine was from Atllow Atlantic Used Truck and Sal. This is not the ones I was billed from. Dave told me he never received the pictures but it did not matter I would be getting a refund of $800.00. I had to buy another engine. This one had no broken parts and this one didn't look at all like the one that D & J sent. I am not sure if it was the correct engine for my van after I bought the other one. Every time I called D & J's they referred me to Dave and I was told I needed to speak with him since he was the one that I spoke with originally. I would have called anyone I needed to, to get my $800 refunded.
When I ordered this engine from D & J's I gave them Dell Overman's Phone Number and Address I also had a letter from Stricklin where the motor was dropped off and it was the wrong address at that.
