I purchased a car from Tempo Auto Sales, financed through JMAC Finance. They are one and the same company. JMAC is comprised of six or so women located in a room at one of the lots in Dickson, TN. I purchased this car in April, and made the required weekly payments on time, usually well in advance. As part of the Buyers Guide, they agreed to repair the window and air conditioner. To date, this still hasn't been done.
I recently had some financial difficulty and could not make my insurance payment and as a result my insurance lapsed for a short period of time. After paying my insurance and it being reinstated, Wendy at JMAC finance issued a reposession order. I attempted to straighten this out with JMAC, but every phone conversation with them began with one or more of the women there cursing at me, using a defamatory tone, basically being as uncooperative and insulting as possible.
So now that I have all of my records up to date, insurance paid, payments made, etc., JMAC is unwilling to release my car. Their position is that I defaulted on my contract, therefore everything I have paid until now has been forfeited and the ownership of the vehicle reverts to JMAC. The illegal aspect of this is that there is nothing whatsoever in the contract stating that they will/may reposses the car if I do not have insurance.
They prey on people with poor credit and use the fact that their customers can't afford an attorney to bully them into giving up their vehicle. Which they will then sell to someone else and the cycle begins all over again.
This company failed to fulfill their obligation to repair the car I bought, and instead of doing this, they repossesed the car and will now attempt to nullify any rights I have to the car.
