I started to look for a new car for my family, and came accross Bill Heard's Ad, I looked at it, and decided to go to the dealership. I was greeted by a guy named Sean, and he seemed pleasant enough.
I told him that I was interested in 2006 equinox, because of the rebates, and I saw one in the paper that was listed for 16000 dollars, he said he would check the inventory, he came a few minutes later and said that it had been sold, but before I left he said let's look around maybe there's a car here for the same price, OK.
I went in, and that's when high pressure sales started comming in waves, first Sean then Mike then the General Sales Mangager. Everytime I tried to leave they'll say "let's talk more." I wanted to leave I felt sick to my stomach, and I knew I was going for a ride and had very little control over this situation.
I got my car appraised, and low a behold there was a upside down balalnce on the vehicle. They kept asking what's your monthly payments, how much can you afford monthly, I broke and 450 per month, with my wife's approval. They told me take the car right now, and show her, I told I do not want that type of liablity. I live about 45 minutes away form the dealership, and want to take such a risk.
After speaking to Sean and Mike and told them that my car was mechanically sound, and I was comfortable just leaving with it, Mike jumped and said I have coupon for you that can lower your payment. A few minutes later the GSM (General sales Manager) came and said we're so close to a deal, what do we have to do to get you buy this car, After being there for nearly 4 hours I broke, and said my payments should not be higher than 450 he said then we have a deal, and walked away.
When I came to signing I was trying to read the information on the contract, and signed witout looking at everything, and glanced at the terms after I signed, because papers were sholved in front of me at lightning bolts pace. My heart sank 11 % for seven years
I have good credit, what did I do?
At this point, I called my wife and told her the news, she was understandibly upset, and told let's try to get our car back. We went to the dealership, and I overheard Sean tell Mike are you ready? As if they had dealt with this before at this dealership. The GSM came and told my wife you can not return the car because Florida law staes that once you take posssesion it's yours, and he was right.
I do not want this car, all I want is my old car, and I would have kept it, if the guys in there didn't keep challenging my manhood during the transaction. I later found out that there is a class action lawsuit against Bill Heard Chevy for the very same thing that was done to me. My only hope is that the bank rejects the loan, but there is very little chance of that happening. I am going to write, and let everyone know about how Bill Heard does it's buisiness with its customers, and maybe I can hurt them where they really will ever hurt their Pocketbook.
