I purchased a 2003 Buick Rendevous from Strieters Lincoln Mercury five weeks ago. Thier mechanics reported no problems, and I could not see any. Three weeks later the rear suspension started to make noise, and I brought it in shortly after that.
I brought the car to a mechanic to check the suspension, and he found numerous other things wrong with it. The steering column is leaking fluid, the engine is leaking oil, and the rear suspension needs new bushings. The total for the repairs is $2,100
I talked to the general manager at Strieters, and he said that he could do nothing for me. I purchased an after market warranty, and his response was that I was only out $100, and that I sould feel lucky. He also refused to pay for the deductable for my warranty. I was told that I was not out too much money, so no harm no foul. I tried to explain how that response was unethical, and was blown off.
