I bought a 1993 Mercury Topaz from the Westgate Lincoln Mercury of Lombard for $2,500. I bought the car on Dec. 2. On Dec. 4; 2 days after purchasing this car, it would not run.
I had the car towed to a Ford dealer and the cost to fix the car was $1,500. The car needed a new alternator and other misc. Parts fixed in order for the car to work.
I contacted the Westgate Lincoln Mercury of Lombard and the sales manager said that it was my problem now and that the car was sold "as is". I think this is horrific way to run a business and very unethical. I reported them to the better business bureau and would like for the dealership to reimburse me for the repairs that needed to be made.
