Wells Fargo Financial
Ripoff

I have had several incidents with Wells Fargo. These two are where I feel I have been ripped off the most. I had a previous car loan with them and really didn't have too much of a problem until I purchased another vehicle from them. I wasn't sure I even wanted another vehicle, but the loan officer went over several vehicles that I might be interested in. He said he would have them brough to the office and I could look at them. I chose a 2000 Windstar. I test drove it and really liked it. I said I'd take it. When the paperwork was put before me, there was a delivery fee of $500 added because they had to go to Alabama to get it. I didn's know they had to go that far. Stupidly, I signed on the dotted line. I know, my mistake.

The second problem is that I knew my montly payment was going to be a few days past the due date. My pay check would be deposited past the due date. I did a payment over the phone, which could be post-dated up to ten days in advance, but supposedly wouln't be taken out of your account before the date you give them. I repeatedly told the customer service rep that if they posted my payment before the date I had given them, it would bounce. She assured me it wouldn't post before the date I have given her and it would take 48 hours after that to be withdrawn. Well... The payment posted 2-3 days before the date I had given her. Of course it was returned for insufficient funds. So not only was I charged an NSF fee from my bank ($28), Wells Fargo also charged me a return check fee ($26). I was furious.

I contacted Wells Fargo and explained the situation. I was finally given a supervisors name and number and told to fax that person all of the information I had, which I did, with a letter of explanation about what exactly had happened. I had to fax this information to him twice. When I finallly talked to him on the phone he told me he wasn't aware of what had happened. I then explained again what had happened. He told me he needed to talk to the rep involved and he would call me back. It took a few days, but he did call me back. He was very rude. He told me that my account of the situation was totally different from the customer service reps. He finally agreed to reimburse me for what Wells Fargo had charged me, but not NSF fee from my bank.

I no longer phone in my payments. I don't trust them, I use online banking for this. Needless to say no more loans from Wells Fargo.
