Ripoff misleading unable to reach put on hold everytime for more than 40mins

We had our property refinanced and one of the payoff aside from the property itself are our vehicles. One was a ford windstar van which came up with no problem. Ten days after the check for the payoff for our chevy pick-up was sent to HSBC, we got a letter from them stating that the morgage company didn't pay them the full payoff amount.

They wanted us to pay another $594.90 till the 19th of this month. Since the letter was received by us on the 16th, I tried to call them to first inquire as to why we need to pay the said amount and to site the other company holding the other car whom we didn't have any problem with. But to my dismay, none of the five numbers I tried ever got me through a live person. However, the automated operator keeps on saying that they are determined to give outstanding services to their client and that my call is very important to them. What a joke.

I have spent 40min. & 8 sec. The first time I called them, another 31 min. & 27 sec. The second time, 17 min & 10 sec. The 3rd time, 23min & 7 sec. The next time and so one and NEVER was I able to talk to anyone. Because of their threatening letter, I talked my husband to just pay the amount they wanted although he was very much against it. I mailed it early morning of the 17th and this afternoon I got another letter from them with a different amount because they have added an interest to the previous one and saying that they will not give us our pink slip till they get their money.

What if they say that the money we sent today was late and so we have to pay another fee which I believe is their way of keeping the pink slip in their hands and maybe waiting for a us to make a slip in a hole that they end up with the pick-up. I really don't think we owe them the amount they were charging us because our Ford Windstar was sent a check for the balance we owed and didn't say a thing about it.

According to our loan officer, they made HSBC a check totalling to what we owe and that unlike mortgages, the payoff amount is always not the same as the balance of the loan. Cars are different according to them there is no such thing as payoff amount specially if no payments has been missed and the balance that was reported to the credit bureau is all that has to be referred to when paying it off.

What I wanted is for us to get back that check fore $594.90 I sent them because to me or to us this is a complete and outrageous RIPOFF, FRAUD, MISLEADING, ADVANTAGEOUS on people like us who value MONEY and property as important as life itself. We did that refinancing to help us get out of debt after a death in the family and raising three kids, two in high school and one in the 6th grade has brought us this hardship and yet this company HSBC has made it harder for us because we have to again borrow money to pay what they said we still owe them.
