I was employed at Jiffy Lube for 1yr. I went to a couple of training but was never actually certified to work on maintenance and I was still allowed. There's been times I had made a mistake and managers would insist us to keep it quiet. "What the customers don't know won't hurt" kept of case. Not only are the workers NOT certified but they are sexist.
The first day I started work the manager at the time asked me to go home with him because he need to grad something from hom, I refused and he insisted that I go home. I was upset but my co-workers suggested that I pay no mind to him. He continued to flirt around with me which made me feel very uncomfortable and I never made any attepmt to contact HR with the issues because I was scared of losing my job.
He got fired for stealing money and a new manager was transfered from the Hamilton store to ours. This man was by far the worst. His employee had quit her job because he continue to harass her at work and when he arrived to my store he did the same. First, he complimented me on how beautiful I was, then he made some very uncomfortable comments when I was in the office alone.
It continued for about two weeks then my co-workers caught on to what was happening and suggested I contact our regional manager and his name is "Rick" I don't remember his last name. I told him exactly what was going on and he was sympathetic towards my situation and asked me to write a letter. I stated all the incidents that occured that was inappropriate. He came and picked up my letter but I never heard back from him. He then contacted me and asked me to fax another one to him so he can give it to HR. I did just that but turns out he never gave it to HR and the guy never got fired and I ended up quitting my job because JIFFY LUBE is indeed a company who does not care about their customers.
SEXUAL HARRASMENT should've been dealt with as #1 priority but they could care less. Trust me when workers at Jiffy Lube tries to make reccomendation for your cars most likely they just want to boost up their sales. Take it to a mechanic you trust not JIFFY LUBE.
