On May 30th, my wife took our BRAND NEW Honda CRV into Cole Honda for a routine Oil Change and tire rotation, to ensure that the vehicle meets the terms of the manufacturer's warranty. The vehicle at that time had 15260 miles on it, and it was time for the third oil change (per manufacturer specifications).
They charged for 143.84 plus tax for their "15k mile service oil and filter service and checkup" which included among other things "lubricating the Hood, Door, and Trunk hinges" and a "Tire wear and safety inspection." There also was an 11.64 dollar "Miscellaneous shop supplies fee" which has me wondering, was that for coffee or for a roll of papertowels?
Anyway, here's the breakdown:
116.40 for labor
5.30 for oil filter
. 50 for a washer
10.00 for oil
11.64 I went out for coffee "shop supplies"
Total of 152.47 when you add the tax
I tried to call the service manager at least 3 times, no call back, never available. I filed a complaint with the bbb, and the response from the company was that "their pricing was in line with the industry prices." Perhaps someone should tell jiffy lube they are cutting their pricing waaaaaayyy too low. I figure at absolute most 40$ for an oil change and 20$ for a tire rotation. They can keep their hinge lubrication, and buy their own coffee. I called American Honda and was told "they have no control over dealership shop pricing." They didn't want involved.
So in summary, I'm very ticked at both American Honda, and Cole Honda (the dealership, aka the representative of Honda to the general public in West Viriginia).
I wouldnt do any repair work at Cole Honda, Princeton WV unless you feel like getting ripped off!
