Ripoff, sold me a lemon

My fiance and I bought a 2005 Dodge Dakota from Carl Black Auto Superstore in Hiram, GA at the end of March. WHen we arrived at the dealership, a salesman approached us to test drive the Dakota we had looked at online. The vehicle had under 26 thousand miles on it and we were told that the vehicle was taken in as a trade in by an older man who owned the truck. He had been the first and only owner of the truck and he traded the vehicle in because they claimed that the man just wanted something newer.

We test drove the vehicle but we did not notice any problems with it during the test drive. We came back to the dealership and started the paper work on the truck loan and before we knew it, my fiance and I were out the door with our truck.

About a week after bring the vehicle home we started to notice things about the truck that just didn't seem right. The truck was not idoling correctly and was in fact stalling out on us. We brought the truck home after noticing this and we looked over the paper work again. Now the truck is white, but in the paper work it says that the truck is grey. After that I walked outside to check the VIN numbers on the truck to do a carfax report because they delaership "forgot" to give us one. One the Carfax report it stated that the vehicle had previously been owned by a rental agency and was actually owned in Louisianna. I walked back outside and started checking things out when I realized, neither of the front seats were electric (normally with a newer vehicle the front seat, or at least the driver's seat is electric.) In fact, the seats had electrical wires hanging from the bottom on them indicating that they had once been electric. The back seat has some slight staining or a "ring" around the bottom showing some evidence the seats had been submerged in some sort of fluid for an extened amount of time. The driver's side window does not roll up as fast as the passenger side, in fact, it is much slower. The radio has some electrical problems and it some times just doesn't work. I then took a look under the vehicle and the bottom of the truck has rust all along the bottom. I came up with a conclusion that this truck probably sat in the some sort of flood, possibly a hurricane.

After coming to this conclusion I immediatly phoned the dealership to speak with a sales representative. The sales man was extremely rude to me and I was accused of being dishonest about the information I had given him. He was very disrespectful to me and took my claim as a joke.

I later tried contacted them and finally after several monthes of them not taking my calls, I was finally able to speak with a different sales manager, I explained to him very firmly, what my issue was with the truck and the dealership and the sales manager then agreed to meet me half way between my home and the delaership. They agreed to trade me for a different used truck. After calling back to finalize the plans, I spoke with a different sales manager who impersonated the sales man I had been speaking with. He then asked for another 2 thousand dollar down payment even though we had already put down a 4 thousand dollar downpayment. So not only did they sell me a lemon, but they tried to go behind my back and refinance us on another car to take the rollover without me knowing.

I am strong advising that no one purchase a vehicle from any Carl Black dealership! I am not the only one they have ripped off! I have spoken with several other people who have been ripped off by the same exact company! They ripped me off and sold me a lemon, and they were dishonest. It was very unprofessional and I took it very personally. They lied to me and my feeling are very hurt that they would sell me a lemon knowing that I had a very young son and we were buying the vehicle as a family vehicle because we needed something safe for our child to ride in. Come to find out, we would have been better with our older vehicle that we traded in. We had been planning on buying a second vehicle from Carl Black, but after this has happend, I will never buy a single thing from Carl Black ever again! No one else should either, unless they have the money to fix the vehicle they are purchasing!
