I went to Joseph Pontiac, (the end of April) a tom Ryan met me at the door, he said how may I help you, I told him my car is a lease and I am here to explore my options because the lease was up the end of may. I informed him I was 7000 miles over on the lease, and that I was ok with keeping that car but due to my credit and I couldn't get any one to cosign for me the payment was going to go up quit a bit so I wanted to explore my options a new car is about the same price per month but that my major concern was how much it would be to return my car starting with the 7000 miles I was over, cracked tail light burn holes in interior, and tire tread depth and that all 4 tires did not match 2 different brands.
He said ok lets see so we sat at his desk and talked about returning the car i.E. I would have to pay for like all that stuff or just let them buy it off me, he said first to see if that would work for me we would have to find out a couple of things first he asked if I still owed any payments on the car, I said no, then he said he would have to call gmac and find out what they would want to payoff the car. He got that number. (as he was on hold with gmac he kept telling me how great it would be if they could just buy it and I wouldn't owe anything and I asked again about the mileage he said I couldn't owe anything if the car was bought out and why it would be better to do a buy out) he then walked away for a minute and came back and said he would have to take the car around to Ryan in the body Shoppe about the light and interior and then over to there used car guy asked for the keys and said hed be back.
While he was gone me and my children walked around outside 10 maybe 15 min later we sit all together inside with tom, he says great we can we can buy the car off you but we are going to have to enroll a little in the loan not much per month more im like how much more he said like 20.00 or less per month, I said that would be ok so I then clarified everything he just told me you will buy my car for $ and enroll $ on the loan per month and I wont be responsible for any repairs or mileage he said you couldn't if we buy it we own it and were not going to charge you.
I said great then we started talking pricing on a new car; I bought one I sign paper work and left. I love the car 2 weeks later I receive a bill from gmac for 1200.00 for over mileage. I call gmac and they tell me I owe the money any time any one buys the car other then me even if it was my dad I still owe over mileage I told them that's not right the guy at the dealer said I would not be responsible for that and she said indeed I am and they are billing me and I owe it doesn't matter what tom Ryan at the dealership said he could lie and it didn't matter that the contract I singed 3 years ago says this which they wont seem to provide me with a copy of ive been trying for the last since I first called them first they said they would then like 2 weeks later I called them back to asked what happened I requested this they said they sent the original to Joseph Pontiac who with out opening forwarded it to secretary of state so they don't know.
So I called the dealer Mr. Tom Ryan I explained what was going on to him and he said oh well don't worry about it we will take care of it told me to drop off a copy of the bill (I did) and that they would take care of it. A week later I call tom back, im like whats going on its now been a week and I haven't heard from you, tom said Joe the owner was out of town but that he was back today and would be coming in until the next and that he would talk to Joe then, well 2 days later no call so I called him
Tom then said he had been out sick I told him this is krap I want the manager, a gentleman by the name of al. Al said this bill has nothing to do with there dealership I said yes it does he said no, its a contract between me and gmac, I said but it does because your represenitive told me not implied that I would not be and as a consumer I expect that you provide them with the knowledge and training to inform and of how the procedure works as I don't deal with these thing often that's why I came to a Pontiac dealer, al then said he couldn't help me I said he could cut a check he said he could but wont I then asked to speak to the owner Joe he (al) said no I said why al said that's why the owner highers people like me so he doent have to deal with people like you, I said I can come down there in person he said I could but that I still could speak to Joe and that it would just cause a sene.
Then tom preceded to call me ten minutes later and tells me he just talked to Joe and al and that Joe and tom are both going to split the error of 550.00 each contingent upon me filling the survey out all happy and satisfied, I told tom, no, I don't have a problem with that but I would not until there was a check wrote out he made a few more promises but haven't heard from them since and no check
