We brought a car in columbia s.C. Wher my husband job sent him. At the time we were not married, but he brought it as a gift for me. It was in his name. He got laid off. We came to Delaware to live, and was making the payments, as arranged. We need to register the car in Delaware but could not because my husband had Va license, because of his job and could not change them at this time. We got married, and because i had De license. I could register the car in my name. We called GMAC and asked to have me put on the loan, with my income. They said no. It cannot be done. We explain that we could not pay or keep a car we could not drive. We were told to bad. We had the car detailed and took it to the dealership that GMAC told us to return it to so it was not a repo. We took it to the dealer, got the paper work stating it was in excellent condition and shape. We received paper work stating that they sold the car for $7000.00 and that we owed them $10.000. We then ask for the bill of sale, because we did not belive that they sold a $23.000 car for that price. We cant give you a bill of sale, why not? First it was we dont have one. Then call dmv. Knowing full well they would not give that infomation. Our question was prove to us you sold the car for that price because we were not just going to take their word for it. Now every day 2 to 3 times a day they call. Or they will call and hang up. I had talked to a superviser that promised me he would send me a bill of sale. Then he called and said he could not get one. Dont we have a right to see what we are being charged for? Not just some letterhead with gmac on it that they typed up? Please let us know if they have did this to others. Someting should be done about this.
