I purchased a used car from their lot in March. The only issue was that the backing of the driver seat was coming off. They told me it would be repaired at no charge to me as the car came to them that way. I arranged to send the car back in to be fixed a few weeks later, while I was out of town and wouldn't need to drive it. They kept it for 4 days and when I picked it up, the seat was still broken. I complained to the service department and they sent a mechanic to the car. I showed him the problem and he tried to give me some double talk about how you just have to punch it in place, right.
It took me 2 more weeks to get another appointment to bring the car back in. I spoke with my sales man, Hector, and 2 managers who were all understanding and assured me the issue would be resolved. They gave me a loaner car and said I would be called to pick it up in a few days.
After the first week, I was getting antsy to get my car back, but the service representative, Suzanne, kept saying that the part was ordered and hadn't arrived.By the second week they had my car, I was really angry. There wa sabsolutely no excuse for a little plastic clip to be that hard to install. I called again, Suzanne, who was unpleasant on the phone, said the part hadn't come in yet. Finally, 3 weeks passed and I got really mad. I called and said that the car HAD to be done and there really was no excuse for this type of poor service and treatment. Te part could have been overnighted! They told me the part had just arrived (a miracle!) and it would not be fixed that day because there were other cars ahead of mine.
How could there be other cars ahead of mine, when they had my car for nearly a month!?
They fixed it the next day and I went to drop off the loaner car and get my car. Suzanne gave me an attiture because I brought the loaner car to the service area instead of dropping it at the used lot. I told her that no one was there to drive me over and she rolled her eyes. SOme customer service!
Automax is a joke. They returned my car filthy, with broken pieces of plastic on the back floor boards, an ink mark from someone's pen on my leather seats and coffee spiled on the dash. I do not eat or drink in my car, so I know it wasn't my mess. Any decent dealership would have washed and cleaned the interior of my car.
Automax is a scam, their sales and management people suck and everyone is rude. Once they got their money the day I bought my car, they washed their hands of me. They have made that clear in their poor customer service and treatment.
