I am a single Mom and in April I purchased a certified vehicle from Team Toyota. Before I even had the vehicle a month, the caliper went!!! Almost caught on fire! It was under warranty but I still asked if I could get something different because I felt the vehicle was not safe. They said I would have to start from scratch, they would not exchange, or help, but they WOULD make me buy another one, even though I was now upside down with my current auto. Of course I could not afford this option. Team Toyota fixed the caliper and a few months later, I had more brake problems!!! Once again I had to take the truck back and they were down right nasty! Again I told them the vehicle is not safe and I can't justify paying over $400.00 a month for a vehicle that keeps braking down.
They still refused to exchange the vehicle. A few months later I was told that I needed a new clutch, of course now NOT covered under warranty.By December I could not take it anymore and I was also tired of fighting with Team Toyota. I volunteered the vehicle back on 12/24/05, yes, Xmas Eve, very humbling experience but I had to do it.
Now, 4 months later, 4/23/06, Sunday at 11:30 at night, a REPO MAN was banging on my door! I am a single Mom, live alone and at that time of night, I was scared!!! The man demanded me to come outside, I refused and he damanded again. He said he was there to pick up the truck, I told him I turned it in in Dec and should check his records. The man demanded the truck again and opened up my screen door!!! Surviving a horrible experience 10 yrs ago, the man sent me into an extreme panic!!! I though he was going to break into my house and I threatened to call the cops. He finally left and I called Toyota Financial ASAP!
Because it was Sunday, I had to wait until Monday morn. I did not sleep all night afraid that man might come back again.in the am on Monday, I called Toyota Fiancial and they said they had no record from Team Toyota that I turned in the vehicle. I went to the dealership on Rt1 in Langhorne and was very angry! I asked to speak to the Manager and the man refused to speak to me because I was raising my voice. I then asked to speak to his manager, who was sitting in his office. He had his back to me, didn't even turn around and said, "what's the problem"? I went into his office because he did not have the decency to stand up and acknowledge me. I started telling him why I was mad and that he neeeded to call Toyota Financial to rectify the situation and he also refused to help me because I was raising my voice. I told the man I was extremely upset and he would just have one ounce of sympathy and compassion for me, I would be willing to talk lower. I started to tell him again and he started to laugh at me. Don't know about you but that is enough to make anyone else angry!
Since he refused to listen to me, I told him i would contact my Attorney and he said "good" and as I was walking out, he called me "a Wack Job"!!! Right in front of all the other salesmen in the building. I turned around and said "What!" I got his name and his bosses name. I was now very furious! I called his boss and again, sorry maam, nothing we can do!!! How disrespectful!!! The kicker, my truck was sitting on their own lot!!! Team Toyota did not do thier own part to notify Toyota Financial!!! I would think that any manager who hears this situation would bend over backwards appologizing about the mixup, appologize for a REPO man coming to my house at 11:30 at night on a Sunday and embarrassing me with his repo truck infront of my neighbors house and yelling at me through my home door when all this was due to negligence on Team Toyota's part!!!
Obviously no one cares at Team Toyota!!! I will NEVER recommend them to anyone!!! If anyone else had this similar experience, let me know!!!
