This Jiffy Lube has a green Sign out front reading Standard Service Oil Change $21.99 I drove in there and requested the Standard Service Oil Change only.
I was asked if I wanted the 10/30 heavy duty oil because thats what the records showed was in it from last time. "Sure". I said. Nothing else was said about this.
Then as I was brought into the office to pay for it they rang it up as $44 dollars with a $10 price reduction for some reason.
I told them that I had only asked for the Standard Service Oil Change $21.99. The guy ringing me up said "No that sign says most major makes. You ordered the heavy duty oil."
I said "the hell I did you told me what kind of oil goes in the car, you said nothing about a price difference."
then the assistant manager came in and said: "Well we are already giving you a sale price. The actual price is $44."
I said "No the actual price is $21.99" and refused to pay anything higher. Finally they agreed to let me pay the advertised price. (But not without slamming my hood shut with extreme violence)
Let this be a warning to anybody taking jiffy lube up on their advertised prices - "most major makes" is apparently a loophole that they use to trap the unwitting.
