I went in Ferman Chrylsler, Jeep Mazda here in Tampa to see if they would fix my brakes, the car was very hard to stop. I pulled up a recall on the ABS system but the service desk told me the car was never sold. I bought the car a 1990 Chrysler Imperial used two yrs. Ago and have the original bill of sales from the orig. Owner from a Freedom Chrysler in VT. I called Cust. Serv. And was told yes there was a recall but my car was built in Oct. 1998 and the recall was for cars made after March 1990, so they gave me a repair estimate for, are you ready, $5,292.56 to fix my brakes.
I went to a local mechanic, Rivera's Auto and he said that it was a pump motor and he would get it tomorrow being Jan. 31st and bring the car in tomorrow. He fixed the problem in exactly two hours, charged me $200.00 for the pump/motor & $100.00 for labor or a total of $300 out the door. Now if some unsuspecting person who knows nothing about cars had went into Ferman on Kennedy as it is called, buy the way they have been in business here for about 105 years, said ok can I put it on my credit card or something of the sort, they would have been laughing still at that poor sucker. I would like this info to be made public.
