I purchase a used 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid and traded in my 2000 Honda Accord. I looked up the value of the car prior to going in and saw that it was in the neighborhood of 7-8000 for trade depending on condition.
Well, according to the salesman, manager, and the estimator... The car was only worth 6400... But out of the goodness of their hearts... They could scrape together another 400 and 6800 was all i could get. After a hard sell I decided that it was the best i could get.
Well, 2 days later the car is listed on their site for 11,421!!! When i asked them about it, they gave me some BS story about how much it takes to get a car ready to sell:
1450 shop work
150 outside detailer
500 internet listing
200 interior/exterior touch up
Well... I'm no car expert... But how the hell do you get all that done and have it ready to sell from 9pm thursday when i traded it and Monday morning?
So, call me a dumbass for beliving them, but i thought i had met a nice honest guy who grew up in Oklahoma with values like mine. I'll never make that mistake again... Car Salesmen are scum! Lying, thieving bastards that cant make an honest living anywhere else... Or they wouldnt sell cars for a living.
