I saw an add on TV for Just Brakes promoting a $99 special on brakes. This being such a good deal I decided to have my brakes serviced there due to the fact they had just started to squeak. My Fiance took my 99 Pontiac Grand AM in to the Just Brakes store #86 located in Houston, Texas on Richmond Avenue. He stated to the man that he would like the $99 job and further stated that the reason for his visit was due to the squeaking.
The man took the keys to the car had it inspected and returned about 15 minutes later to state that I needed rotor, wheel cylinders, calipers, disc hardware, shim kit and return springs. This was to cost approximately $500.00 far from the $99 special I wanted.
My Fiance told him all we wanted was the $99 special. About an hour had passed and he was told the car was finished. He drove away and no squeaking was heard for the rest of the day. It wasn't until the next day that I began to hear the squeaking again! I called Just Brakes the same store that my car was taken to and explained to them that the car was squeaking this was the reason that the car was brought there in the first place.
To my dismay the man that I spoke with incredibly rude and ignorant and stated to me "What did I expect for $99 if you would have got a $300 job you wouldn't hear the squeaking." Totally appauled at the way this man spoke to me I asked to speak with a Supervisor or Manager he stated he was the manager.
I then asked him for the number to the corporate office he refused! I again asked for it until he provided me with a number. It was not the corporate office but a different location. I asked them for the corporate number and it was provided to me.
I called as soon as I got off the phone with that location. Now I was told that there were three people that I could talk to but two of them were on lunch and the other already on the phone. I called back and I was told that all of them were on the phone I asked to hold and held for approximately 15 minutes.
I then spoke with a man and explained the situation to him he stated that I could bring the car to another Just Brakes location and have the car inspected.
Now throughout any of the conversations I had with the Just brakes representatives none of them mentioned anything about the 90 or 4,000 mile warranty that is on the back of the receipt I received.
