Ripoff - illegal collection practices-failure to provide supervisor name & number

United Auto Credit is a scam. This company has no regards to your privacy. My husband purchased a car in November 04, he was financed through this horrible company.

All of his payments were made in a timely matter until now. My husband and I took a trip to Pennsylvania in the car that was financed. We were still out of town on the day his payment was due. United called immediately on his cell phone, that was on a Friday. My husband said we would be back on Sunday and he would have the payment in their office prior to them opening on Monday (drop box). United continued to call even though we had made an arrangement.

When we were ready to come home on Saturday night the car broke down. Leaving us stranded in PA until Monday when the dealership opened to repair the car. Monday the car was at the dealer it needed $964.00 worth of repairs, we had to wait for them to order a part that would not even get in until Thursday.

United called of course on Monday, we explained what had happened and when we could get back and pay the payment. United said that was unacceptable. We explained there was nothing else we could do but wait. We also explained that this was a big inconveince to us as well. We both were missing work and our kids would be home from camp before we could get back.

I notified my sister about our situation and asked if she would go to our house and stay with the kids. This is where it gets ugly. My sister was at our home when United continued to call knowing that we were not there. My sister answered the phone and spoke with a John Miller from United. She was completely unaware of who he was, so she stated to him we were out of town, please call back when one of us was back at home.

He then proceeded to tell her who he was, what company he was with and that we were now 10 days late on our carpayment (illegal) and that he needed to talk with my husband now. This was 7:35 pm. He also proceeded to tell her very detailed information about my husbands account, including he had been late before on a payment (illegal).

My sister called my cell to let me know that United had called and all of the info that was disclosed to her, very embarrased. My husband immediately called United and John Miller this was 7:42 pm. To no avail he only was able to get a voicemail.

It is now Thursday morning the car is being fixed we will be ready to leave tonight. We have both now missed a week of work. United (John Miller) called my husband back, my husband told him we would be home late Friday and he would take care of the payment as soon as he returned. Again this was not going to work, my husband was told to western union the payment or face the actions that United would take. My husband finally hung uo on Mr. Miller.

Friday we are now well on our way. Mr. Miller calls our house @ 9:57 am, my sister picks up. Mr. Miller once again explains who he is and what was going to happen to my husband (illegal). Then he continues to tell my sister what she has to do or can she make our car payment. At this point my sister is outraged and demands to speak with his supervisor, Mr. Miller refuses saying he is not going to play games just to do what she was told. Approx. 20-25 times she said over and over she wanted to speak with his boss. Finally she hangs up and calls back Mr. Miller answers and say he will get his supervisor.

Mr. Tony Yeager was placed on the line (I do not believe this was a supervisor) my sister proceeded to inform Mr. Yeager of all the actions that Mr. Miller had committed and how illegal his actions were. Mr. Yeager then thanked my sister for calling, like so what. She asked what his intentions were regarding Mr. Miller and he stated he cold not tell her since she was not on the account. My sister then asked for his superior and she was given the name of Chris Covert and the #678-560-3223, wich was the voicemail to someone named Tony Schnieder. So once again no superior. My sister proceeded to call back Mr. Yeager and informed him of the incorrect number and his answer was that Mr. Covert and Mr. Schnieder worked together and that was the correct number. BULL-who doesn't have their own voicemail these days.

This is ongoing I will find the person in charge and I will contact anybody I can regarding this illegal disclosure of personal info.
