Employs uncertified, unexperienced installers! Ripoff

I had my car-stereo H/U stolen due to my ignorance of leaving my door unlocked in front of my residence. After 5 months of waiting for parts I was finally able to schedule a appointment with the insurance backed installer. I arrived and chatted with the sales person while the car was being worked on. The salesman pointed out that most of his business doesn't come from insurance. Blah blah blah. 2 hours done! I inspected the deck and the amp wiring, which was covered due to the fact the thieves attempted to steal the amp with no luck. Forgot to mention they installed a new dash bezel, which I supplied, to include a/c vents in the dash (all insurance covered). Driving out of the lot and noticed my dash vents were pushed in to the point that they were non-adjustable. Went in and spoke with the salesman and he called out the young pimple-faced punk who did all the work. He (pretended) to scold him in front of me, while he worked on that I popped the trunk and noticed my speaker box wasn't mounted as directed. Asked the kid to mount it please, no prob. I drive the car home and parked it, took my other car (suv) and went to run errands.

I come out the next day and open the car door to show my wife the new goods. Immediately I notice a nauscious burnt smell, overpowering! I open the trunk and my back seat is charred. I call the stereo shop and they tell me to come down. I arrive and immediately they begin with every excuse in the book. Capacitors blow all the time, after amps sit for a while they tend to blow, that brand is notorious. Etc. They remove the amp cover and it shows that the ground and power wire along with all the metal on that side of the amp is fused together in one big blob. I call BS and the young installer tries to start explaining how capacitors work, I stop him and explain I have a EE degree, no need to explain. I argue with the salesman how the system has worked flawless for 3yrs and mysteriously fails after they touch it. They deny all liability. And state that if we work together the insurance should pay for it.

Come to find out through connections, that the youngman who worked my car has less than 2 months experience and is not certified as most unexperienced installers are, to work without supervision. The salesman talked bad towards that brand of amplifier the entire time after I brought it back, which made me wonder why are they an authorized dealer of that brand then? I emailed the company and verbatimed the conversation back already!

So shoppers beware, this particular Drive-in Autosound hires Car Toys groupies and folks with no knowledge of electronics!
