Another ripoff Story - Grab Your Money and Run!

I took my car to AAmco in Chester, Va. To have a new transmission put in. They kept the car for over a week and finally called to say it was ready at a price of $2000.00 This was February.

I picked up my car that night and drive it a few miles home. The next morning when I went out to drive to work there was transmission fluid all over the garage floor. They finally towed it in around noon that day. And the response was that they had never seen that much fluid leak out and it wouldn't be ready until the next afternoon.

Well, I drove it for four months when the transmission went out again. This time they kept it was two weeks while I tired to find a ride or rented a car. And of course they weren't going to reimburse me for the rental. That was my problem. I also hear the girl at the deak talking to someone while I was there about the fact that all the "technicians" had quit.

OK so they have my $2000.00 so what do I do? They finally called me and said that they could not "fix" it so they guess they would be forced to install another transmission. I got my car back on 14 July and they refused to extend the warranty. I started calling AAmco Customer Service. I talked to a rep named Bennie Henderson. He was going to call me back. Right! Sure wish I had seen the report from the former AAmco center owner telling us not to bother calling the customer service center. It would have saved me 7-1/2 months.

Well, in February the transmission went out again. The center where I had taken my car had gone out of business. I finally sent the "customer service" center an email asking for another rep since the one assigned to my case would not call me. I got an email back the next day saing he was going to call me shortly. When he didn't, I sent them another email saying I was taking the advise of my Mazda dealer and calling a lawyer and I wanted someone's name and mailing address. The email had hardly had a chance to get to AAmco when the rep called and ssid that there was nothing AAmco was goin to do. I would have to try to find the person who use to own the center where I took my car and take action against him. They could have told me this 7-1/2 months ago and I would not have wasted so much time on phone calls.

At least no one else will be ripped off by this center since he has gone out of business but as I can see by the number of reports there's always one to take his place.
My advice, never go near an AAmco service center.
