Ultimate Ripoff, Baited for a Danger Ride!

Since, May the battery on my Mercedes Benz has been going dead. If it sits idly for a day or two. The battery dies. If I move the seats. The battery dies. After taking the car to 3 different MB dealers for the same issue, I decided to take it to Ray Catena since, I was in the NJ area.

On June 28 at 9:00am I took my MB into Ray Catena to address continuous battery drainage. The 1st diagnostic test identified that the seat control modules were problematic. Several calls ensued with the Warranty Company and Mr. James Scoles on pricing the parts. MB prices for the parts were more than $125 higher than suggested list price.

By 3pm, I called Mr. Scoles and informed him that I would pay out of pocket for the difference.By 6pm, a second diagnostic test was needed and the car stayed overnight. On June 29, at noon, I was informed by the receptionist that the car was finished and Mr. Scoles was preparing the paperwork.

At 2pm, Mr. Scoles that there was not paperwork and that I could take the car. At 2:30pm, I spoke to Mr. Bob Gallagher (James' supervisor) who stated that this was not the norm and a 2nd diagnostic test would be done.

At 3:30, I received a call from James stating that the Tele-Aid (telephone system) caused the problem and would cost me $1300 or he can just disconnect it. I agreed to disconnect the Telephone.By 5:45pm, I paid for the diagnostic test and left.

By 6pm, I called James to tell him about the SRS light. Concerned about the SRS light (airbags), I returned to the dealer and ask if the technician could ck it out before I drove to VA. After the technician ck'ed the car, James told me that he would not give me the car back becaused it needed to be fixed immediately.

I asked him to reconnect the SRS component and he instructed me that it was after 6pm and the car had to stay in the shop another day.in order to get my car back I "HAD" to sign a waiver releasing Ray Catena of liability if I got into an accident. Stressed by this situation, I left the car in the lot and drove another to PA instead of VA.

I returned to the lot to pick up my car on June 30, and the battery dead. My car was not fixed and now I have a new problem (SRS) which is endanger my family lives.
