I would have have thought in a million years that I would run a cross such a business. All these years that I have seen commercial after commercial about U-haul and how wonderful and the best company to call when moving, would be the rudest, most horrible experience I have ever encountered.

I moved from Dallas to Las Vegas on April 28th.

Or shall I say, that's when my venture began. After picking up the truck and car carrier, packed and ready to go. This was a move I had waited to accomplish for over 15 years. What started as a moment filled with excitment and joy, turned out to be one of the most expensive, frightening, and sickening, experiences of my life.

The trip that was supposed to take twenty-four hours, took over seventy-two hours to accomplish, due to the U-haul truck constantly breaking down. The truck itself should have never left Dallas it Wasn't properly inspected. But I was not told that until it broke down not four hours out of Dallas. We were stranded and had to purchase a hotel room for the night. It took U-haul thirty six hours to get us back on the road.

Still not out of Texas, we got as far as Lubbock and once again the service light which cautioned us the first time, came back on. Not knowing what to do in the middle of the night. We opted not to take the chance of us breaking down again. There fore we had to yet again, stay the night. Purchased yet another room. All this time, we were calling their so called customer service getting nothing but rude and unvaluable assistance.

The next morning we went to the U-Haul place and got assistance. The General Manager himself was getting the same runaround from the so called Customer Service on the phone. We knew then that there was a major problem with U-Haul. They fixed the truck once again and off we were. This time they told us not to worry about the service light and to just keep driving.

This did not settle well with us. We were about to drive through the desert and were most uncomfortable with their request. However, we had to reach Las Vegas. We were way behind schedule. Finally reaching our destination, we unloaded and then returned the truck and carrier to U-Haul. The GM of the Las Vegas store gave us numbers to call with specific instructions on what to do to get our refund for all the inconvience and stress, caused by their company. We did so.

However, U-Haul felt it neccesary and appropriate to offer us a refund of 550.00 that didn't even pay for the gas. What was to cost 1300.00 ended up costing 1900.00. They informed us that, that was their final offer. I felt they had done me really wrong. I refused the offer and told them I would take it up with Mr. Joe Shoen himself.

I wrote Mr." Joe - Ripoff" Shoen a personal letter sent certified. Finally got a unpersonal response. I recieved a post card sent to every single individual that had a complaint. I called the number given and was told that the matter had been resolved. I informed them that it had not in fact been resloved. They said I refused their offer and therefore, That was resolution to them. I was told to call the so called President of the Texas area (Dallas) to speak with her. However, they informed me that Mr. Shoen would stand by their drcision and that would be final. I called Dallas, asked for the Pres, and behold, on the phone was the woman who offered the first insult offer of 500.00.

I asked for the Pres, she said not here, ofcourse. And I explained I was doing what was asked of me. I told her I had contacted Mr. Shoen personally and as I was speaking, she hung up on me. This was about the fifth time I had been hung up on by their co called customer service. I am completly at ends not knowing what to do here. I am an honest man. I may not have much but I at least have the knowledge of knowing how to treat people with respect. Mr. Shoen has proven over and over again., that Uhaul has the right to treat people with disrespect, hateful words and unkind and thieving resolutions.

When is someone of high authority going to take matters into their own hands and help all the individuals who have been truly wronged by the Hateful, horrible, cruel and thieving actions of Mr. Shoen and his U-Haul Company?

I think someone needs to call Erin Brockovich!
