Lost the car title ripoff

Me and my husband bought a car off ebay. They gave us the option of usuing ebay finance. Which I thought was OK, until we started dealing with HSBC bank. We recieved a check in the mail to pay for the car. We then went to pick up the car and deliver the payment. The person we bought the car from had to overnight the car title to the bank before the check could be deposited. There was a verication number needed to be put on the check before it could be cashed. Monday April 18th, the person who sold us the car called and said everything was good. They verified to me and my husband that the title and check were good.

Stated in the Terms of the Agreement, "we will send you a seperate check payable to your Motor Vehicle Department apporximately 5 business days after the seller has deposited your check". Well the five days had past, and no check in the mail? We began calling, we were given lie after lie. HSBC went into saying the person who we bought the car from did not deposit the check, the check needs to clear, it is in the process, it is in the shipping department and they do not have a phone number. After getting fed up and THREE weeks of "still processing", we spoke to a person from HSBC bank, who told us the title had been misplaced. Then the title was lost. So The bank knew this the whole time but never once wanted to explain this to us sooner. They decided to give excuse after excuse. Now they are contacting the person who sold us the car, to apply for a duplaciate title. Not only is HSBC being unprofessional towards us, they are now bothing a person who we did business with. How professional is that?

That could only mean they never began the paper work before they lost the title. Now our first payment is due May 20th. HSBC will not delay our first payment, they suggest we make our payments on time. Or it will reflect on our credit and generate late fee's. The loan in full reflects the money for the second check for tax, tag and title. Which we were never given. Not only is this a rip-off, it is not fair. No one within the company is willing to help out. Nor did anyone apologize for the inconvenience, it has caused us.
